Mission, vision and goals

Mission

Advance knowledge on regional geology, georesources, and environmental geosciences relevant to socio-economic issues.

Vision

Work together to become a focal point of excellence in geoscience, open to all, and promoting collaboration and participation of governments, organisations and universities across Canada.

Goals

  • Promote scientific collaboration between the INRS Eau Terre Environnement Research Centre and the GSC-Quebec
  • Raise awareness on geoscience among the general public and help spark the interest of young people
  • Conduct and promote geoscience in French
  • Train the next generation of geoscientists through the graduate program in Earth sciences offered jointly by INRS and Université Laval
