PGQ visual identity guide

This guide is intended for anyone who uses the visual identity of the Pôle géoscientifique de Québec (PGQ). The following guidelines should be followed to present PGQ’s visual identity in a consistent manner.

Logo

Description

The PGQ logo is composed of three inseparable elements: the PGQ acronym, the name “Pôle géoscientifique de Québec”, and the drawing. The PGQ logo must never be altered. The primary colour is black. This option is intended for use on light backgrounds and images in order to maintain legibility. The other option is to use a white logo on dark backgrounds.

The logo must never be modified:

  • Do not change the proportions
  • Do not change the colours
  • Do not rotate
  • Do not change the font
  • Do not use on a low-contrasting background

These restrictions also apply to the logo variant shown below.

Logo with partners

The PGQ logo with partners has been adapted by adding the name of each partner (GSC and INRS) under the logo. All of these elements are an integral part of the logo with partners and must not be modified. The colour to be used for the partners is as follows:

Use of logo and affiliation

The PGQ logo is the official symbol of the partnership between the Geological Survey of Canada (GSC) and the Institut national de la recherche scientifique (INRS). It must appear on all official, promotional and information documents, online or printed. Here are the guidelines to follow:

Publications

  • INRS-GSC joint project: use of the double affiliation (INRS or GSC + PGQ) on all publications (papers*, posters and presentations**) is strongly recommended.
  • Independent project that falls within the PGQ research themes: in addition to the relevant affiliation (INRS or GSC), the use of PGQ affiliation on all publications (papers*, posters and presentations**) is strongly recommended.
  • Independent project that does not fall within the PGQ research themes: only use the relevant affiliation (INRS or GSC).

The use of the PGQ logo with a QR code to the website is strongly recommended. The logo is available in different formats on the PGQ website.

Emails

In addition to the relevant affiliation (INRS or GSC), the use of the PGQ logo with a link to the website in the signature is strongly recommended.
